CQRID Exam Dates and Locations

The CQRID examinations are scheduled to be given on January 26th, April 26th, July 26th, and October 25th, 2008. You must submit a written request to CQRID specifying your preference for the date and location a minimum of 30 days prior to your selected examination date. Your written request will be used to reserve your seat for the examination.

Review the attached list for an examination location nearest you. Details regarding the specific location and time of the exam will be mailed to you by our outside testing organization, a minimum of two weeks prior to the testing date.

The CQRID examination will be given in two parts;

Part I - Multiple Choice Part II - Design Problem

Part I - Multiple Choice takes three hours and thirty minutes to complete. You must successfully complete Part I - Multiple Choice before you can take Part II - Design Problem. You may submit your written request for your selected examination date for Part II - Design Problem as soon as you receive notification that you have passed Part I - Multiple Choice.

You are required to bring your own supplies for the examination. No supplies will be available at the testing site. The supplies required for Part I (Multiple Choice) section of the examination are as follows:

Part I - Multiple Choice

  • Three (3) sharpened No. 2 pencils
  • Eraser
  • Non-programmable calculator

Part II - Design Problem

  • Ruler
  • Drafting tape
  • French curve
  • Liquid paper correction fluid (white-out)
  • Mechanical pencils or drafting pencils with 2h or 4h lead
  • Triangles (minimum 10")
  • Pencil sharpener
  • T-square (24" size)
  • Templates - (1/4" = 1" scale) including plumbing fixtures for kitchen and bath; barrier-free, electrical symbols, and furniture. Note: Magnetic templates are allowed. However, plastic templates should be used for drafting to ensure size is accurate.
  • Tracing paper
  • 1/4" graph paper
  • Small pad of self-stick notes (optional)

If, for any reason you must cancel your registration, applicants will receive full refunds (minus the non-refundable $35 application fee) if cancellation is made "in writing" postmarked sixty (60) days or more prior to the examination date. Registrants who notify CQRID in writing at least one week prior to the test date will receive a refund of $50.00. "No-show" registrants will receive no refund. There are no exceptions to this policy.
